Overview
Love & Pies is a live-service mobile merge game where players combine items to progress through a character-driven mystery, restore a café, and unlock cosmetic rewards. The game blends light narrative, environmental storytelling, and continuous LiveOps events to keep players engaged over time.
My Main Contributions
Live Narrative Content
Wrote and implemented serialized, character-driven cutscenes for a live-service mobile game, delivering emotionally coherent story beats on a weekly release cadence.
Event & Seasonal Storytelling
Co-wrote and later independently authored limited-time narrative events (including Season 9 x Green Game Jam and 2025's Ice Cream Event), translating external briefs into on-brand stories that fit seamlessly within the existing universe.
Character Voice & Dialogue
Wrote, edited, and polished dialogue across events and cutscenes, maintaining consistent character voices while adapting scripts to animation, UI, and technical constraints.
Narrative Ownership
Owned event narratives from concept to final draft: selecting characters, defining antagonists, developing backstories, and shaping emotional arcs across multiple cutscenes.
Non-Verbal Narrative Design
Strengthened storytelling through In-Between Cutscenes (IBCs), using animation, staging, and repetition to convey character relationships and worldbuilding without dialogue.
Collaborative Story Development
Worked closely with the Narrative Lead, art, content, and marketing teams through brainstorming, iteration, and feedback, contributing narrative specs, storyboards, and documentation to align teams.
Fast Iteration & Editorial Precision
Delivered high-quality narrative work under tight deadlines, praised for quick turnaround while maintaining clarity, tone, humour, and emotional impact.
One of the Seasons events I owned, showing development from Unity to live: I storyboarded and implemented scenes, managed and QA’d scripts in the CMS, selected character chat heads, and reported issues through Jira.

Part of the narrative brief I created for the 2025 Ice Cream Event, defining the event lead, supporting character, core premise, dialogue, and chat heads.

See below to read some scripts I wrote for the game.
An example of the non-verbal storytelling/narrative design I implemented into my work. The image shows a scene I created to demonstrate to the wider studio how we follow our design pillars in creating wholesome, snackable content.
